Hi,
a friend has put up a number of nest boxes in a mixed Oak wood in south west Scotland.
Talking to him last night he told me that he had noted 2 female Pied Flycatchers apparently sharing a box. Both birds were also noted sitting side by side on a branch with a male in attendance.
There's nothing about this in BWPi and all I can find elsewhere is a Short Note in Ringing and Migration from 1990 which refers to a double clutch in a nest in Wales the previous year.
I was wondering if anyone was aware of any other instances of this behaviour
many thanks
Gordon
