10x42 FL (1 Viewer)

Both this and the HT thread are an amazing collection of speculation......that the HT will be a waste of money, that the Conquest is better than the FL etc.

What's the point?

Zeiss 10x42

Hi ,

I sold mine recently.
Light transmission was very high and very bright indeed.
However what was negative with this bin is the the very critical diopter finetuning : I always had the feeling that the diopter match between the eyes was not very permissive.
This is what I experienced with all FL 's.
The persons to whom I sold them also remarked it.
More over , FL are quite sensive to internal glare.
I bought myselgf for this reason a swarovision 10X50.

Very interesting, never heard of that before.
Did you compare it with the SW, side by side? Is it something measurable?

I've owned the FL for a year and a half and have not noticied this. A bit of veiling glare in the worst conditions and a wee bit of stray light occasionally but thats all.

They seem as good, or better, as any other alpha in this regard.

Of course, brand loyalty has blinded me to such things...........;)
