Hi everybody, A REQUEST...

I will publish a paper on Three-toed Woodpecker (P.tridactylus) in "Birding World" UK, this June. We are lacking some photos. If you have any good quality photos or slides of the following and would like them to be possibly published, then send them directly to:

We need:
Adult female nominate tridactylus (from Fennoscandia).
Adult male and female alpinus race (from Alps, Carpathians, Balkans).
Adult bird from Bialowieza area, N.E.Poland.
Adult crissoleucus race (from Siberia, Mongolia, the Urals).
Adult albidior race (from Kamchatka).
Adult funebris race (from SW China, Tibet).
Adult American Three-toed Woodpecker. P.dorsalis Any races (N.America).
Adult Black-backed Woodpecker P.arcticus (from N.America).

In addition there will be a article on White-backed Woodpecker (D.leucotos) in BIRDWATCH MAGAZINE (UK) this summer. We need slides of both European races of this species (leucotos and lilfordi). If you have any slides of these and would like to have them considered for publication then please send them to:
