Duck ID help please (1 Viewer)

This unknown duck was swimming with mallards. Picture taken today at the estuary (brackish water) of a river on the southern tip of Norway.
Could not find a look alike in any books.

As has been stated, Mallards do come in all plumages, shapes and size, but a good id pointer is the curly feathers at the back end - if it's got those, it's a Mallard...
