eyepiece attachment method (1 Viewer)

how do opticron eyepieces attach to the scope body?

i have a different brand scope and fully intend to upgrade to an ES80 when finances allow, though this isn't going to be for a while. I've already tried the ES80 Ed out and really like it.

i currently have a problem with the eyepiece of my current scope and was wondering if it might be possible to fit an opticron eyepiece to it, so i have the eyepiece and just have to get the body when i get the money.

this will mean i won't end up without a scope for a while.

The eyepieces use either internal or external screw threads, depending on the model and which scope they are being used with.

Cheers, Pete

Opticron eyepieces are male screw threads which will screw directly into an Opticron body or into an Opticron adapter which then screws over an external thread on an Opticron scope body. Focal lengths can be adversely affected thus resulting in not being able to obtain a sharp (focused) image when fitted to other brand scope bodies......."not all compatible".
Do not b*gg*r up the threads!

Should have said that the best plan is to call the office (01582 726 522) and ask to talk to Sarah or Stuart in the service department - one of them should be able to work out if we have something to go with your existing kit.

Cheers, Pete
