Small Bird Skimming Over Water -Seaforth Liverpool today (Note: Poor Quality photos) (1 Viewer)

Hi all

Yep, sorry for the poor photos but had to grab my camera quickly to fire off a few shots before he disappeared - think I did well doing just that ;)

Was sitting enjoying the peace and quiet when this lone small (smaller than a Starling - possibly Robin sized?) dark-coloured bird whizzed by at great speed like an arrow/fighter jet (in a straight line keeping the same height as he went along) from one side of the lake to the other and then was gone!

So any help appreciated - but it was definitely not a lone Swallow, Swift or Martin.

cheers
