BTW, Have you not heard about the dangers of the red coloring in the nectar? It's best to just use plain water and sugar

Is it because of possible artificial ingredients/color? I'm assuming here....

Yes, there are numerous articles on the web about the red coloring being harmful to the Hummers. People use it thinking that the red attracts them. As longer as the feeder has red coloring there is no need whatsoever to use anything but 4 cups of boiled water to 1 cup of sugar. Hope this helps.

It certainly does, we avoid crap like that in our own food, we'll do so for our local hummers, too.

We believed the color was for attraction...changing it out today.
