as nobody [seems] to make an apple holder to feed the birds, i am using a metal potato holder used to hold potatoes whilst baking in the oven. the holder is metal and has four upright spikes to impale the apples, the whole thing is hung in a tree and is popular with the birds. this might be usefull to other b. f. members. p. s. the wife has not yet missed it. [ birds one, wife nil ] its always five to twelve for me. regards [living on the edge] stuart .
