Notebook sketches (1 Viewer)

good to have you with us on the art forum, I remember enjoying your line drawings in various magazines when I was a kid.
Great set of pages.

Great stuff, Julian. I regularly admire you're b and w's in my collection of old BB's. Superb Bony's drawing here - I too love Millington's Twitcher's Diary and I instantly saw the inspiration here.
I really love the notebook drawings, though. Notebooks like these should be put in a museum as testament to the field skills of bygone era. Photos just don't do it for me, I'm afraid.

It would be good to hear you're going back out with the sketchbook.

oh! Ms. Hamilton, game on is it! I will definitely lose, but I'm sure I can dig some stuff out..it'll have to be old stuff, since I haven't done much (zilch). Family and work are the old excuse, but I am definitely inspired to do a few pieces. I'll probably throw some stuff up on my blog when I can scan them in. Lots of field sketches of by-gone grippers for the UK clan.

Given the rather acrimonious birding threads elsewhere, I can say I'm rather flattered by the encouragement and good-nature of this forum.

Look forward to seeing you soon Catherine..
