First steps - what do you do first? (1 Viewer)

I'm fairly new to using PS 6 so I'd be interested to hear what steps you take to tidy up a photograph once you have downloaded them. Obviously a lot will depend on the initial picture quality but do you have any specific steps you follow. I often struggle with what might be the more methodical way to work and I sure I could improve a few more of those I now delete. :-C

Would you perhaps:- save to a set size before moving on to cropping out anything or vice versa; or change levels before moving on to something else.

Any and all help greatly received.

Regards

Di
