A few odds and sods from Fuerteventura the week before Ken! (1 Viewer)

Been all round the houses researching: Jane's Sticky, Opus, Internet, books, previous pix etc, and I suspect as usual, once I know the answer, I'll know what the question should have been...! So, came in to ask your advice, and there's Ken's post on Fuerteventura! Hope you had as wonderful a time as I did, Ken.

1) Taken on Los Lobos, a nature sanctuary offshore from Corralejo - volcanic rock, sand, desert, scrub - is this a Berthelot's Pipit (mindful of Ken's post here...)?
2) The beak and the legs don't sit with my usual suspects - could this be a grey plover?
3) Been reading up on some of the changes with grey shrikes - Southern Grey, Desert, Koenigi or not...?
4) Think Whimbrel, but not great between this and Curlew - shorter beak, crown patch, eye stripe...?
5) Re the gull, was fairly easy with Yellow Legged until I ventured once more into the Gull World - now happy to settle for "It's a gull"...not really, but confusing!

I did try to do this on my own, but don't want to get it wrong - grateful for any advice. Do hope the pix are attached properly...

Thanks

Ian

Thanks for confirmation Ken. A definite change from Glasgow to be wandering about without a jacket in January! Sounds like you enjoyed it too.

Whimbrel: a common bird on the canary islands as opposed Curlew.
Eye strip evident in this photo. Bill shape different to that of Curlew.
