Nature dioramas (1 Viewer)

I am new to the forum but not to wildlife or wildlife art. I have travelled the tropics from South East Asia to southern India, throughout Indonesia and Borneo, from northern Australia and both the islands to the north of New Guinea as well as New Guinea proper. I try to spend as much time in the Hawaiian islands as possible, usually a month or two per year. While out and about I see so much wildlife that just recently I started making clay sculptures of the different trees and plants as well as animal life I have seen.

Here are some photos of individual pieces and the dioramas I make. The scale is 1:22 (1 inch on the model is 22 inches in life) I do all of the trees, plants, and landscaping as well as most of the birds. There are a few birds done by friends as well as most of the mammals but everything on the dio's is hand made from scratch using clay, wire, acrylic paints and various artificial and natural materials for the foliage on the trees and bushes. This dio is 8 ft long and 2.5 ft wide, and depicts an Indian rainforest, I have a South African dio that is almost 80 sq ft in the same scale and I'm just starting a roadside ditch with native birds. If there is some interest I can post more photos but for now I hope you enjoy...

these look fantastic, but the photos are so small! Do you have a link where i could see them bigger?

These look great. I used to make a lot of dioramas but mine were for ww2 military models and tended to feature more urban landscapes. Mine were 1:35 scale and it was always a challenge trying to fine ways of representing natural stuff that small. One favourite was an old doormat that provided me with endless 'grass' and a particular type of moss which made good bushes when it was dried. All good fun and it's nice to see something different on here.
