Clarity of images in birdforum gallery/Thread attachments

Looking for some explanation please on clarity of images uploaded to this site. Images are very sharp when viewed via computer, shown on digital television via USB stick and also using a light pro projected onto a screen. However when loaded onto this site, then become slightly blurred. Is there an explanation please?

finno

PS: previously asked same question without response. Thanks

How large are the photos you are uploading?

If they are above 900x900, the software automatically reduces the size so that might be the problem.

In that case, you should be able to click on the image and view the slightly larger image. Does that look sharper?

There is a size reducer for images which are above 900 pix on the largest side.

This isn't a complaint but it's why people like me have a flickr page and give the link in our signature as it allows people to have a look at the hi-res image.

Some of us with limited web access are prevented by firewalls from checking flickr. This is a complaint albeit a mild one.

Check that you haven't set your browser to magnify, otherwise that will make the pictures not as sharp. Text will be bigger and look OK but the photos won't.

Hi finno

That may depend on your browser in Firefox, it's View > Zoom. Or Ctrl+ (or -) to actually zoom in and out.

In Firefox you can set it to zoom text only (didn't know that before LOL)
