Best protective filter for FZ18? (1 Viewer)

I've had my FZ18 for about a month or so now and am thinking it would probably be wise to buy a filter for lens protection. Considering the fact that the FZ18 is not a good low-light camera... which filter would be the best choice, - UV, ND, or just a clear glass filter. I think I read somewhere that all filters, other than clear glass, have some small tiny amount of light reduction. If that's the case, I think I'd rather go with clear glass. With the FZ18, I need all the light I can get. (But, otherwise it's a fantastic little camera for quick and light birding, and I wouldn't trade it for anything else!)

Any expert opinions?

Thanks,

Tom
