Anyone used the video(motion picture) on this camera?

Had mine a few months now and getting some great pics but never used the video mode. I always forget it can be used as a video camera.

Going to try it out tomorrow. I'd be interested to know if anyone has had any decent footage of birds.

The video mode is good, but the files are MOV format and need to be opened in Quicktime.

I had been very happy with the videos of my FZ8, until I bought a larger monitor. So there are limitations, and I think those show up more when there is a lot of bright red color in the picture. The other limitation is the fact that one can't use the zoom during recording. I have now bought a FZ28 mainly because of the improvements in the video area. But these come at a price. HD videos require so much more storage space! Plus, the EVF of the FZ28 is no match to the FZ8.

I could get decent videos with the FZ8 without the use of a tripod. No way to give it a try with the HD on the FZ28, though.
