Acknowledging the danger to look like a total moron, I have to admit that I can't figure out the first two from south OR. The final image is from central NV and could be a Redhead?

Btw. would you imagine that googling images "redhead female" doesn't yield useful ID hints? :))

Yep, moron I am :) We have Pintails here as well! If #2 is a Redhead, that's quite funny because we really looked for them everywhere only to find out we observed some at the beginning ...
 
We concluded that #3 could indeed be Redhead, immature male, comparing to internet photos, while #3 is female, which has lead us to the confusion also, not considering them the same species.
