HELP! Will this Robin abandon its eggs? (1 Viewer)

HELP!!! I recently discovered a robins nest in a hanging flower basket. I went to peek and see if there was more eggs. (There was one) I didn't know the mother was sitting in the nest and took a peek! The mother was! She quickly flew away and I quickly ran away. Do you think the mother will abandon the egg/eggs and nest?

P.S: Yes, I will be more careful in the future! ;)

She might, unfortunately, particularly early in the proceedings where your nest seems to be. In general, it's best to stay away from active bird nests at any stage, not only because of the possibility of desertion but also because it can draw the attention of predators to an easy meal.

Anyway, good luck with your robin. Let us know how it all comes out.
