Not a traditional birding destination, indeed the birding was simply a bonus on this relaxing long weekend. I had hoped to be given permission to spend a morning at the estuary in San Jose del Cabo to hunt down Belding's Yellowthroat. Said permission didn't materialize, but the birding at my hotel was much better than expected thanks to a relatively small piece of intact desert habitat on the property.
