Nikon p600 and p530 (1 Viewer)

Wha Whassssat
I see Nikon have announced these two bridge cameras. They have a dedicated bird watching scene mode. Plus both have vr lens with the p600 having ed and a 60x zoom. The p530 has a 42x zoom.

Looking forward to seeing real world use of these two cameras. Depending on how they perform one of them might be added to my wish list.

Regards Gerard.

There are some announcements out with some specs but I haven't bumped into any real hands on reviews yet.
I thought some magazines and reviewers got cameras ahead of time for reviews?

This one who discussed it but hasn't tested it yet

I wonder what the bird watching mode is/does?

Also - from someone who long ago might have known what this meant but no more, what does starting at 24mm vs. 20mm lose you? They mention a gain in zoom distance but not what that means from a loss perspective. fstop/loss of light at one end or the other? Can't focus as close?

Not sure the P600 will actually be of much use for birders (keeping 600mm stable is difficult enough) :D

However it may be a good (and much cheaper) option to a scope ! With the ability to get a record shot too.
