DA1 adaptor - info wanted (1 Viewer)

Does anyone have any info on the new DA1 adaptor?

There is a brief article in B'Watching mag which notes that it does not have grub screws or the like and fits straight to the eyepiece. How does this work and can it be left in place without support?

Also it notes that it designed for the zooms of most makes but not fixed eyepieces - is this because all zooms are wider than fixed and the adaptor is designed for this width?

Any info would be appreciated?

Yup, no screws or anything like that.

The disadvantage is that it will only work with the eyepeice for which it has been specifically designed. It just slips over the (wound down) eye-cup - which makes for a very quick method of removing/replacing the camera. It stays in place by friction alone, and is fine when gravity is working to keep it on. If you're in the habit of using an angled scope upside-down then it'd probably fall off. For this reason it's not going to be very useful with a straight-through scope.

I guess it's designed for zoom eyepeices as they're the most common ones in use.
