Bald Eagle Attacks Osprey, Steals Fish Mid-Air (Video) (1 Viewer)

This was caught on video this weekend at a football camp. A bald eagle targets an osprey, and forces it to drop his fish, catching it in mid-air. The eagle had earlier stolen it straight from the osprey's nest (taking another person's word for it, it's believed to be on top of the stadium lights) and they had been battling it out directly overhead all afternoon. We accidentally caught the climax of the altercation during a camp field goal competition.

Wait for the slo-mo close-up at the end of the clip.

This was at the Farragut Academy High School Stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida.

I saw an Eagle steal a Salmon like that from an Osprey in 1967 in Southeast Alaska when I was crewing on a Purse Seiner near Ketchikan. Snatched it just before it hit the water!
