Scots Landowners Call For License To Cull Birds Of Prey (1 Viewer)

Ye jist couldnae invent it!

Might be worth a bet that some SNP SMPs will want to curry favour with certain landowners to fat-cat the perks, even though they claim to represent the Scottish working man better than Labour (mind you, that's not too difficult).

It seems like a clear-cut issue, but will Alex S show he has depths?

Overstocking artificially-bred grouse chicks as well as the naturally-bred population may be expensive, but is it actually employing as many people in worthwhile jobs as environmentalyl-based schemes that would involve some government money? Intelligent long-term policies seem in short supply anywhere...

Couldn't agree more with most of that, but what do you mean by "artificially-bred grouse chicks"? Artificially protected and cossetted, definitely, but grouse chicks are all wild birds, unlike reared pheasants and partridges.

artificially-bred grouse chicks

Do explain MJB, I thought Grouse were almost impossible to raise artificially due to their rather choosy dietry demands. Though that may be just Red Grouse. Unlike Famous Grouse, which I am assured is completely artificial, and hence tastes like piss.
