Hello you lucky South Africans. Lucky because you´ve got birds galore, and here they´re relatively scarce if you don´t count city pigeons, sea gulls and sparrows.

Ah Mike, but your pigeons are Bolle's, your Sparrows are Spanish and your Chaffinch's are Blue.

Never mind the quantity, it's quality that counts

Hi Mike

You have plenty of birds in Tenerife, don't kid yourself. Birders from all over Europe visit to see the endemics, and the island has a great record for pulling in vagrants from both Africa and America, and failing that careless Canarians always seem to be leaving cage doors open!
