Robinson trap funnel. (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

Can anyone please give me some advice as to the lower diameter for the inner cone on a Robinson I am making. I do not want to cut the 12 inch funnel I am using too small or large.

Many thanks in advance,

Will.

Hello Will,

On my commercially made Robinson the lower hole is 4" in dia. It does not prevent all escapes, but it doesn't allow or permit many to escape. At 4" dia it's large enough to let all British Moths in, including those large migrant Hawk Moths, if your lucky enough to catch any, like my friend Tom who got a Bedstraw Hawk Moth last night.

Harry,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have read many of your well informed posts in the short time I been a member of the forum.
