Can anyone recommend a butterfly field guide to take to costa rica please. Most reviews of the two available on amazon dont even say how many species are covered.

AFAIK, there is no, single country guide for CR, most I think will probably use 'Butterflies of Mexico amd central America' by Jefrrey Glassberg.

thanks Andy. the second edition may not be out till mid/late Jan but will keep my eyes open. First editions are at inflated prices.
