[England, London] What flatfish? (1 Viewer)

I saw this flatfish swimming in an inland canal in Wapping (London). It was sticking out part of its head (mouth?) from the water. What species could it be?

Flounder Platichthys flesus - the only flatfish that tends to enter brackish water. I'd suspect this one went a bit too far even for that! Whether it'll survive or not, I don't know.

Thanks! I am afraid it might not, this was a fresh water canal.
 
They're certainly regularly found in the Thames up to at least Barnes as I've regularly seen Cormorants manipulating them in their bills.
