Blue tit missing! (1 Viewer)

Blue tits have now gone...mother has disappeared leaving chick dead and one egg. Male has been back and forth but now given up. No mites or suchlike in nesting box so can only presume mother has been killed. Do I empty box or leave for next pair? Thanks all.
