Why does a Black-headed Gull have a brown head...
Jubilee Queen has started trips to the Mouls - the website is unfortunately not showing departure times as the charming lady who ran the website and sold tickets on the boat has sadly died.
The mobile number for the boat does work.
Went out today and there were fair numbers of Guillemot, Razorbill, Shag and Gannet all on a shoal of fish....couldn't see any Puffin...took some pics of the east side of the island...the Puffins use the Mouls to nest as the east side has an earth bank they can burrow into but couldn't see any birds.
Skipper commented that he sees Puffins more as the weather worsens which is certainly my experience from last year.
However we went out to where the Gannets were diving as yesterday they were accompanied by an estimated 500 Dolphins - no Dolphins today but about 10 Harbour Porpoises showing only briefly but one was an albino !!
