Hi Guys can you identify the bird song at 12-14 seconds? I know there is a Robin singing because thats what I was recording but it at 12 seconds it sounds different from a robin sound more like a warbler or nightingale? this was in a Warwickshire wood?

Thanks Paul

I'm not sure what this is. It doesn't sound like anything 'obvious' and I don't think it's a warbler or nightingale. My suspicion is that it's something common that's doing a kind of practice song that isn't quite formed in a normal way. It almost has the pattern of notes of a Chaffinch, although it's not doing the usual song.

You might get more replies to this in the Bird ID forum, so maybe the mods can move this thread.

It's a Robin, the section you're referring to isn't typical, but isn't unusual and always pricks my ears up when I'm listening for my first Blackcap of the year lol

Paul,
the bird singing at 12 seconds is a Chaffinch with a slightly abnormal song. The other bird in the background in a Robin.
