Hi,
Last Eastern was very rainy in Spain. This was a limitation to outdoor activities. However, and despite the rain, I managed to visit a new lacoon in the village of La Pedraja de Portillo, in Valladolid province (north-center Spain). I could visit it in March 24th and 26th. The area was full of water, with lots of life in both El Raso farm and in the lacoons itself.
My main aim was to see the small resident population of great bustard. It took a little bit to find them, but at last they were there. Distance was large, which limited the quality of pictures, but you can see some examples in my blog:
Lapwings, stilts or little ringed plovers were located within the lacoons or in the flooded cultures around them. And obviously, other species, as a common kestrel, completely wet due to the rain, and some passerines.
Regards,
Antonio
