Pipits? (1 Viewer)

I saw quite few birds today I'm sorry to say I can only really describe as a "small brown thing"... helpful eh ;)

I'm hoping the unusual flight pattern may shed some light on the situation however.
These birds seem to have to flap at a heck of a rate and then would swoop down to land on a marshy field (country park with lake and woodland nearby). I found it hard to get a good look thourgh my bins but it seemed their most noticable feature was, well, not having any... My best guess is Meadow Pipits? Anyone else?

were they going "sip...sip...sip"?
Ahhh you see this is just it... I've no idea :h?:
The air was filled with various song and until I got back home to look up what they could have been, I didn't know what I should have been listening for.

So in short, I dunno (and have learned a small lesson about taking more notice of song)
