going to stay in nethy bridge area next week,hoping to see the osprey at loch garten and crested tits,what else would i be expected to catch up there,thanks
 
Hi Whizzer... have you looked at the Opus article? It will give you a start till others come in with more information.
 
Crossbills, Crested Tits, Redstart, Black grouse (if up early), Capercaillie (up early) Red Kite, Osprey, Buzzard... out on Loch Morlich look for Red Throated Divers (again earlier the better). In short, Nethy Bridge and the surrounds are an awesome area for birding.

No point getting up early for Black Grouse or Caper in August, the early morning spring leks long over. Red-throated Divers appear on the lochs at any time of the day even when being used by watersports on Morlich. Certainly agree wholeheartedly with the last sentence ;)
