WELCHIA worm! (1 Viewer)

My company shares a Wide Area Network with another company. Over the last two day the network has ground to a halt and I do mean a halt. We found that we had our Windows XP/2000/NT4 machines infected by the W32.Welchia.Worm . This is similar to the MSBLASTER and exploits similar holes in the suseptable MS operating systems. Unfortunatley the patch from MS for MSBlaster does not fix this worm.
An infected machine pings the network to identify other machines which are then infected and ping the N/W and so on, eventually the network grinds to a halt.

I've had a hell of an afternoon removing and patching machines on my site and I am knackered.
The removal tool is here, See removal instructions.
