Just saw my first Butterfly of the year, couldn't say what type it was it just flew past my window.

Red Admiral in Camberley on 22 January. It was a warm day though quite windy, but the butterfly was flying fine.

Added Peacock today near Norris Bridge on the Basingstoke Canal.

Peacock flying strongly at Brixham this morning.
Sadly, both the Iceland and Glaucous Gulls weren't flying until this afternoon, by which time we had left.

My first butterflies around here were on the 19th Jan: several Green-striped Whites in Southern Portugal (Évora area).

Had my first one yesterday in record warm temperatures. Only got a brief look, though. Small and orange, I'd saw maybe just smaller than a Red Admiral. Possibly one of the commas?
All last week, several Blue-spotted Arabs, one Large Salmon Arab, two Desert Bath Whites and one Painted Lady, the first three being new species for me

Finally, I've seen two confirmed Eastern Commas and two Cabbage Whites in the past few days.
