Hello,

I've got this beetle to identify from the Isle of Canna in the 'Small Isles' (a group of islands in the Inner Hebrides, off west Scotland). It was seen on the neighbouring Sanday island a couple of days ago.

Also to ID is this beetle, observed at Allt Mhuic Butterfly Reserve near Banavie and Fort William. This was a very common species, black with a lovely pinkish purple sheen.
