The theme for April 2006 was 'Birds and Water'.

From the 76 entries this month 30 were selected for the voting booth.

This is the second month in a row we had run away winner.

1st - Congratulations to Suleesia with his entry Fresh Catch clearly led the way from the outset. In the end it attracted 36/157 votes cast. A well deserved winner.

The placing after that were all pretty close, but on the close of voting -

2nd Marise with Excuse me.....can't a bird get a bit of privacy! with 18/157 votes.

just to say pipping

3rd alibenn with Egret Fishing which attracted 17/157 votes.

A very high standard of entry this month.

The entries will remain in place until the end of the month after whihc they will be moved to their respective forums. Details of next months theme will then follow.

Huge congrats to all three in an extremely competitive final-30 gallery. I voted for the winner, but I also find "Egret Fishing" to be an extremely striking, highly esthetic, and difficult action-freeze, especially after reading alibenn's description of what he went through to get that shot. It's nice to hear the background on the shots afterward, and he "respected" the Members by not posting it in the description itself in any effort to gain difficulty "points."

Congratulations Suleesia- a magnificent entry and a very worthy winner. Many thanks everyone who voted for my little Grey Wagtail - he's gone now but I hope he may be back next Winter. Think I maybe captured some of the 'cute factor' votes - I certainly wasn't expecting to come 2nd but I am really delighted -thank you.

Congrats to the winners. The photos were simply amazing! I agree with Adey most were in the "wish I'd shot that".

Thank you everyone, I am really chuffed! 8-P
Didn't expect it to be a runaway winner, would have been more exciting to see a four horse race with the winner winning by a nose. I appreciate your votes all the same. Thanks again. Now I got to go trawl my archives to see what fits the new theme 'mono/sepia'. Good luck to everyone!!
