minidv playback issues (1 Viewer)

Hello all

I'm using a canon xl1's minidv and have noticed that when I play back the footage on my LCD tv the quality is not great, I use the 'A' setting on the camcorder and record in frame mode, I just wondered if this is normal, surely for this quality camera it should be better? or is it the LCD tv?

any help much appreciated.
