Righty,... but WHAT is it?

Perhaps Short-tailed Field Vole. Prey items are sometimes carried in the forward position (like Osprey and fish) I know it looks odd but it's quite normal to carry like this in order to reduce drag or just easier with a bent leg.

John.

Would love to ;)

Well, for starters it's the Golf course again in the morning, maybe I luck out on some more BOPs there :)
(Weird that they don't stop there like they did in Egypt)

As Voles go this one seems to be on the big side. Very dark pelage, greyish cast. In the flight shots it seems to have a rufous cast in the fur along its upper back.
All this makes me think it may be a Grey Red-backed Vole/Grey-Sided Vole (Myodes rufocanus).

Bit better than Mole or Colostomy bag? I'll put this in the Mammals section...;)

Done...
