A similar thing happened to someone a few years ago in Germany. The particular running route was placed out of bounds until the end of the breeding season.

was on ceefax again last night another jogger in the same area attacked by a buzzard presumably the same bird

I suppose the whole idea of the guy covered in blood was for dramatic effect. 'Look at what that buzzard did!'

The Jeremy Vine Show on Radio 2 today had all manner of birdy/victim type stories, inspired by this one. Unfortunately it didn't include the couple from England who had to be rescued by the Coastguard from Hoy last year after wandering into a bonxie colony.
