Red-rumped Swallow Display? (1 Viewer)

Mark Etheridge

Bird Shooter (With A Camera)
I took this sequence of photos last week at El Hondo reserve near Alicante in Spain. I was alongside a canal with a bridge over it, and a pair of Red-rumped Swallows were evidently building a nest beneath it.

Over a period of at least three or four minutes this particular bird seemed to be displaying the fact that he had found a particularly good piece of nesting material (the fluffy bits off the tops of the reed beds - sorry I don't know the plant species!). I can't find any reference to this form of display amongst RRS, anyone else seen it?

Apologies for the poor shots - still trying to perfect my in-flight shot techniques which obviously need more practice...o:)
