backyard bird count (1 Viewer)

Here in America, we are in the last day of the Backyard Bird count. It is a project in which birders watch an area for a period of time and record the species as well as how many of each kind. The results are then posted to the Backyard Birdcount website and are then tabulated. They are posted for all to see. I just finished my third day. I observed from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm (EST) and here is my list. I almost forgot, there is 24 inches of snow on the ground from a monster 24 hour snowstorm. I observed in my backyard here in south central PA, USA.
crow, cardinal, house sparrow, dark-eyed junco, house finch, hairy woodpecker, tufted titmouse, downy woodpecker, starlings, black-capped chickadee, purple finch, pine siskin, song sparrow, white throated sparrow, carolina wren, red bellied woodpecker, and a surprise guest, a broad winged hawk.
The snow sure helped pad my list. Now, out to the driveway to clear it again. I put two pictures of the snow on the gallery if you want to take a look.
