Hi,
I'm a retired Ocean person, who's become interested in casual bird watching.
Although there's naturally always been special interest in native bird species, I'm pretty sure that won't be my focus. Basically the path will open of its own accord, I think.
My last set of good/great binoculars were an 80's Nikon 7 x 50, which among other things, were used several times a week at Diamond Head observing the surf and sea conditions. Current bins are the surprisingly functional 7 x 20 Travelite II.
Being ready to upgrade, and Nikon seeming to be a familiar brand, the Monarch 7 tends to attract :t:.
