Pipits id help - South India (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Can someone please help id these pipits? Pics taken last Sat (18-Nov-2017).

1)Paddyfield? - (Dark lores). But got confused by the tail that looks long for a Paddyfield to me.

2)Richard's? - Pale lores and pale lower ear coverts. Or is it just me seeing it that way?

Thanks
Ajay

The first bird has to be Paddyfield.

The second bird does seem to have a pale lore, but that could be because it's moulting (out of juvenile plumage?) - I think there's a loose feather obscuring any loral stripe. The short dark stripe under the eye seems to be typical of juvenile Paddyfield (see the images here: http://digdeep1962.wordpress.com/2017/02/07/identification-of-paddyfield-richards-and-blyths-pipits-in-malaysia/). I'd say the tail is too short and the bill too thin for Richard's, and once again, it's unusual for Richard's to frequent such short grass.

Ah! A pale lored Paddyfield. The bill and the head looked so Paddyfield. I disregarded them all seeing the pale lore.

Thanks a lot. Really appreciated.
