At the Wrekin, Telford, Shropshire today (10:00 am – 2:00pm). Route taken was from the Car Park at the base – Gd Ref 637093. Up the main track and just as the track double backs on itself (up to the Café), take the footpath on the left. This takes you along the eastern side of the Wrekin. At the far end (Southern tip – Gd Ref 621076) follow the footpath up the steep slope to the “summit” and back down to the Car Park.

Buzzard - 2 Resident, 5 flypasts
Sparrowhawk – 1 Female with large rodent!
Kestrel – 1 pair

Red-legged Partridge – 2
Pheasant – 4

Lesser Black-backed Gull – 3

Woodpigeon – Numerous

Cuckoo – 1

Swift – 2

Green Woodpecker – 1
Great Spotted Woodpecker – 2

Swallow – 4
House Martin – 20+

Tree Pipit – 2
Meadow Pipit – 12
Pied Wagtail – 1

Jay – 2
Carrion Crow - 4
Raven – 1 pair

Wren – Numerous
Dunnock – 2

Blackcap - 10+
Willow Warbler – 8 singing
Chiffchaff - 20+ singing
Wood Warbler – 2 (1 seen and heard along the same track as the Flycatchers (Gd Ref 638089) the other was on the eastern footpath - Gd Ref 636085)
Goldcrest – 6

Pied Flycatcher – 1 Pair (Approx 200 yds from the base of the Wrekin on the left –before the sharp bend that double backs - Gd Ref 638089)
Spotted Flycatcher – 2 ( Same area as Pied but on the right hand side)

Common Redstart – 5 singing Males
Robin – Numerous
Blackbird - Numerous
Song Thrush – 2

Willow / Marsh Tit – 1 (to quick to get a definite ID)
Blue Tit - Numerous
Coal Tit - 2
Great Tit – Numerous

Long-tailed Tit – 2 pairs

Nuthatch – 1
Treecreeper – 1

Chaffinch - Numerous
Linnet – 1

Excellent list Martin for four hours birding! Thanks for the map references, too. Sounds a good walk.
