As an avid gardener, I am also interested in attracting birds...generally other than sparrows and mocking birds to my yard. I am an amateur woodworker, so building nesting boxes would be with my capabilities.
However, I would like to know from those more experienced in wild birding, a source or sources for nesting box designs that are attractive to certain species.

Finally, I am interested in the Wild Birds Unlimited franchise, a national organization that apparently has a small, but enthusiastic, and profitable franchisees across the U.S. Any information anyone has on this company, from a "birders" perspective would be appreciated.
