Can anyone identify this wasp, snapped in my garden last June. I can't be 100% certain that it was the same insect but a couple of days later, I saw what looked like one attack and carry off a bee.

don't know a lot about wasps but if it is an asian one keep away! there have been some deaths in southern france.....
