Which small Uk bird. (1 Viewer)

On my local patch in Eastbourne I often hear but never see a bird which repeats the same tedious one note song/sound roughly every second. I assume it's a small bird, going by the sound it makes. I was out this afternoon and heard several on my walk so it's would appear to be reasonably common. Any ideas as to what the bird is please ?

No, not a Chiffchaff James, I did hear several of those though. The birds I hear have just the the one note/sound which is continuously repeated.

There's a Greenfinch thats out the back here that makes a "ZZHHEEEOOW" noise over and over. Usually hiding in the deep in the trees when he (or she) does it.
