Can anyone tell me the best place to see a Black grouse in North / Mid Wales as we are going there in a couple of weeks - Last year we saw one which had just finished leking which my father heard - I know the leking ground moves so many miles each year in a different direction - and last year we were sent on a wild grouse hunt by people we asked - so we found our own!
Thanks o:)

Hi Vick,

I don't think the lekking grounds move unless there has been a significant change in the habitat/vegetation or a population decrease - timing is more important.

There is a well known lek South of Llangollen where birds should be visible from the roadside.

Good luck,

Andy.
