Bird recording software (1 Viewer)

Hi Kath!

I have been using Bird Journal for some time now to record both bird and other natural history records. When I had a problem early on using the software because I wasn't familiar with various aspects of the system I had very prompt and friendly support both by email and telephone.

Thanks that was very useful.

I have also now been in touch with Bluebird Technology regarding the format of file I would need to create to upload all my previous records into Bird Journal. Christine has been extremely helpful in supplying these and answers to my questions.

Thanks again,
Kath

I have just purchased the Complete Edition of Bird Journal and I love it after just one day. I will, I think, be writing a review of this one. It is the only one that when I tried the free trial version I did not give up after spending hours working out the riddle of how to enter sightings and photos that seems to be built into all the others I have tried.

Hi, here:
http://darekk.com/db/birds/
has been uploaded slightly extended newer version of such sample database template for observations of birds for Microsoft Access. Yesterday first time and today again a little modified one. This is annoying, but maybe someone is interested. This time it contains a joined checklist of European and North American (north from Mexico) bird species, alltogether about 1750. Including some of exotic or alien species, not marked, what may be confusing when you see for example Australian duck checked as American or European one. The current extended checklist is mainly based on Avibase (http://avibase.bsc-eoc.org/checklist.jsp), Sibley, National Geographic, Collins field guides, Wikipedia, local list of such faunistic commission (abou first 450 species from previous version). Names generally are consistent with IOC.
