FL 7x42 vs SLCnew 7x42 (1 Viewer)

I own the SLCnew in 7x42 and love the wide sweet spot. I previously owned an FL in 8x42 and loved the brightness and center field sharpness, however in twilight the lack of sharpness or astigmatism around the periphery was bothersome.

Does the 7x42FL have a larger sweet spot than the 8x42? Has anyone compared the 7x42FL to the 7x42 SLCnew? i would be interested to hear the comparisons. Thanks
